Terms of Service

Rules and conditions for using BioPipeline.

Last updated: April 27, 2026

By accessing or using BioPipeline ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • "Service" — the BioPipeline web application, API, and all related features
  • "User" or "You" — any individual or entity accessing the Service
  • "Content" — any data, text, files, or materials submitted by Users
  • "Output" — computational results generated by the Service (docking scores, ADMET predictions, visualizations)

2. Service Scope and Purpose

BioPipeline is a research platform for computational plant-to-target molecular docking, ADMET analysis, and AI-powered pharmacology insights. The Service is intended for:

  • Academic research and education
  • Early-stage drug discovery exploration
  • Hypothesis generation and in silico screening

The Service is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or regulatory submission platform. Outputs are computational estimates and require independent validation.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.

3.2 Account Accuracy

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Update your account details if they change
  • Maintain the security of your password and API keys
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access (security@biopipeline.online)

3.3 Account Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all activity performed under your account, whether authorized by you or not. We are not liable for losses from unauthorized use if you failed to secure your credentials.

3.4 One Account Per User

Each user may maintain only one free account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits is prohibited and may result in suspension.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service to:

  • Perform molecular docking analysis on supported plant-target pairs
  • Generate ADMET predictions and export results
  • Access public datasets (plant compound libraries, PDB structures)
  • Integrate via API (if you have a valid API key)

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Abuse resources — scrape, spam, or use automation to exceed rate limits
  • Unauthorized access — attempt to access other users' accounts, data, or backend systems
  • Security violations — probe for vulnerabilities, inject malicious code, or disrupt service availability
  • Harmful content — upload malware, viruses, or files that could compromise infrastructure
  • Misrepresentation — impersonate others or falsely claim affiliation with institutions
  • Illegal activity — use the Service for fraud, harassment, or violations of applicable law
  • Reverse engineering — decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract proprietary algorithms (except as permitted by law)

4.3 Rate Limits

The Service enforces usage tiers:

TierRuns/MonthCreditsMax Compounds
Free815010
Pro ($10/mo)301,20020
Max ($20/mo)752,60050
Enterprise ($25/seat/mo)Unlimited6,500100

Exceeding limits without upgrading may result in throttling or temporary suspension. Contact sales@biopipeline.online for custom limits.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Service Ownership

BioPipeline and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BioPipeline and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any Content you submit (e.g., custom protein structures, compound libraries). By submitting Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, and display it as necessary to provide the Service.

5.3 Output Ownership

You own the Outputs generated from your submissions. We do not claim ownership of docking results, ADMET predictions, or exported files. However, aggregated and anonymized usage statistics (e.g., "1,234 docking runs this month") belong to BioPipeline.

5.4 Public Data

Plant compound data (Dr. Duke's database), PDB structures, and UniProt entries are third-party public datasets. Their use is subject to their respective licenses (CC BY 4.0, PDB Terms, UniProt Terms).

6. Research Disclaimer and Limitations

6.1 No Medical Advice

The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Outputs are computational predictions for research purposes only. Do not use them to make clinical decisions without experimental validation.

6.2 Accuracy and Reliability

While we strive for accuracy, the Service provides estimates based on computational models:

  • Binding affinities are predictions (typical error: ±2 kcal/mol vs. experimental)
  • ADMET predictions are based on RDKit heuristics, not wet-lab assays
  • AI insights are generated from language models and may contain errors or hallucinations

Always validate computationally-predicted hits with experimental assays (IC50, Kd, etc.) before advancing to in vivo or clinical stages.

6.3 No Regulatory Approval

The Service is not approved by the FDA, EMA, or any regulatory agency. Outputs are not suitable for regulatory submissions without independent validation and documentation.

6.4 Third-Party Data Disclaimers

We rely on third-party databases (PubChem, PDB, UniProt, Dr. Duke's). We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or outdated information in these sources.

7. Payment and Subscription Terms

7.1 Pricing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Prices are displayed at checkout and may change with 30 days' notice.

7.2 Billing

Payments are processed via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Failed payments may result in downgrade to the free tier after 7 days.

7.3 Refunds

Refunds are granted at our discretion within 14 days of purchase, subject to abuse checks. Usage-based credits are non-refundable once consumed.

7.4 Academic Discounts

Verified academic users (.edu email + institutional confirmation) receive 50% off paid plans. Proof of academic status is required annually. Contact academic@biopipeline.online to apply.

API endpoints and data formats may change. We will attempt to maintain backward compatibility but do not guarantee it. API users should version their integrations.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time from account settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible (30-day backup retention for disaster recovery, then fully purged).

9.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

  • Violate these Terms (especially Acceptable Use Policy)
  • Engage in fraudulent activity or chargebacks
  • Pose a security risk to the Service or other users

  • Your access to the Service is revoked immediately
  • Your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy (30-day backup, then purged)
  • Paid subscriptions are not refunded (except as required by law)
  • Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 6 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), and 11 (Indemnity) survive termination

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
  • WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES
